Can you learn to play drums without reading music?

Well, a lot of set drummers never learn to play with music. However, music teaches you a lot of terms and rhythms (useful for playing with songs). If you want to do orchestra or corps it's a must. You will probably not have to learn to read melodically, simply the patturns

agreed, you can be a great drummer without reading music, but learning it helps alot!!! if you dont want to then dont..but the more you know about music terms and writing and reading the better!!
