yeah there was a girl I liked and never got up the nerve to ask her out, she kinda flirted and then would blow me off on "friend" dates and stuff, she had to know I liked her but she would always tell me about guys she was dating and how bad they treated her. Eventually I just quit hanging out with her because it hurt but I often wondered about her and what I would say if I saw her again. Then I saw her again a couple years later and wondered why I made such a fuss over her. Every flaw I couldn't see before was lain bare before me and she was utterly bland.
