Neither. I'd rather wear a canvas hat, something better for hiking or canoing. A baseball cap doesn't protect my neck and I wear a hat for protection.

I'm not a big hat person, I'd be more likely to go with a baseball cap than a flowery hat, though. I have a couple of hats that look like these that I wear from time to time:
