  • Yes , they can ! They can revoke it . If info on you or the party is behind on support is made available to the DPS .
  • If they can then that makes absolutely no sense. What is the logic in Denying someone Driving privileges when they owe money? I suppose they see it as a method of giving you incentive to pay what you owe. What if you owe more than you can afford and they revoke your license. how are you expected to work and continue to pay off what you owe? If they are allowed to deny someone a way to work and be a productive person in society how are they helping the people they are trying to protect... the children? Ridiculous...
  • Arete 22 . To answer your question . The law is put there so that whomever it is that owes c/s know what will happen if her or she gets behind in c/s . Just like if you speed ... you konw you will get a speeding ticket , if you drive while intoxicated you will lose your license , Etc......... If you are old enough to make a baby , you are old enough to support it . And just in case you opt out on your responsiblities .... there are laws and consequences ..........
  • Well it depends on where you live . But mostly you can go to your local Office of The Attorney General . And file for something to be done there . If you already have a c/s order against him . Simply call where you filed that order . And you may have to do that on a daily or weekly basis . As sometimes they won't do it . The system is overloaded with family law cases . Let your ex know , that YOU know yours and your childs rights . That if he doesn't fullfill his obligations . You WILL take the steps needed to get that c/s ! Sometimes a little motivation will help ... LOL . If that doesn't work . File everything the legal and right way . So that YOU have a paper trail . Keep EVERYTHING ! You WILL need it later , if there is a problem . Good luck ... if I can help moe let me know .
  • Nebraska is very strict on this also. If you are due a federal or state tax refund and you are behind on child support, you won't get it. Or you get what's left after the c/s is deducted. I don't know about drivers license, but it could extend into that also. Driving priviges. You give them up when you break certain laws. In some states that extends to supporting your children. Bawl, Bawl. I've had more families on ADC because the ex didn't pay than you would want to count. No sympathy from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Subtlesledgehammer , how did it all the sudden turn to into " men bashing " ? Her specific question had to do with her ex ... which happens to be a man . Doesn't matter who you are . Mom or Dad you need to support the child you help make ! I've receive c/s only because our child wants to live with me . I pay for all bills on my own . I don't ask for my ex to pay that , given the fact that we split . The c/s I receive helps pay for food , flute lessons , softball fees , weekend money , and clothes for school . You notice that this is all for " the child " ? The drivers license law applies to BOTH men AND women . Get off your man bashing way of thinking . There are plenting of dead beat Moms out there also . The system works for both men and women . I've done my research , and set in many family court rooms . So that I can learn , and do what is best for my child . Believe me it is a sad sight . Especially when the parents make it about them . Who has to pay who . And really sad when the child has to take the stand . Believing that he or she is choosing sides with one parent over the other . It is devastating to that child ! The faster we ALL realize what c/s is and what it is used for the better our children will come out to be !
