  • For a 5-11 17 yr old male, you should weigh a lot more. Judging from your question, you probably have body dismorphic disorder. Go see a doctor.
  • You could probably gain a few pounds. I'm 6' 150 and most people think I am too skinny.
  • I'm 5'9" 135 age 33 I'm told I'm skinny everyday and you know I don't care cause I'm happy with myself, now on the other hand I'm not very intimidating so most confrontations end in battle
  • Yes you are on the thin side, you could probably aim to gain 10 lbs, but you're only 17 so your energy will still be used mainly for growing in height still for a few more years - girls usually stop growing in height at 15 or so, but not boys. So to gain weight my son who is almost 16 drinks Boost, eats lots of peanut butter sandwiches, uses it on toast and granola bars for snacks, bananas, and he eats a good healthy breakfast as well as all meals and snacks in between. Eat some ice cream. Don't worry, when you stop growing in height you will start packing it on! Work out some too - try weights, push-ups, ect. to build muscle. :-)
  • That's a bean pole. You do need to pack on some mass there.
  • You are thin, but you are also a teen ager. Sounds like you have a high metabolism too. If you want to gain weight drink milkshakes made of whole milk. vanilla ice cream, banana, peanut butter, add weight gainer powder if you want. Do it every day and start working out.Dont do a lot of cardio, because it burns all the calories you are trying to pack on. Lift, eat protein and carbs.
