  • We put salt (regular table salt) along the patio door where they always seemed to enter our house. It works!
  • I have also read that baby powder put down whee they are coming in will stop them..They won't cross it. They won't cross baking soda either.
  • Sprinkle borax where they enter the house.
  • I use clove oil wherever they come in or along their trails. If they bother the dog food or cat dishes I rub the oil along the bottoms and it keeps ants of them.
  • Find the source of your problem, Unless you plan on spraying all the time, they'll just keep coming back.
  • A good cleaning for a start. Scrub the floor with Ajax or another ammonia-based cleaner. This is important not only to remove food debris but also the ant scent trails that are bringing in more ants. You then should apply an ant repellent around the perimeter of affected rooms, which can be a commercial spray, or if you want to go natural, a boric acid solution.
  • Borax is a chemical too, that will lead the ants back to their nests and wipe them out. The chemical can be mixed with honey, and put in lines, to allow all the ants to come and feed of it. Then they will go back to their nests, and will die. Sad but necessary at times. You must be aware though, that initially, the ants will be attracted to the honey, so you will get many more. Over a period of two days, you will notice that there are no ants anymore. Best way to mix the borax and the honey is to mix the borax with the honey whilst warm. The honey shouldn't be boiling, but hot enough to mix the borax with it. You may be able to buy it pre mixed. Borax is a chemical that isn't good for humans to consume. I think it causes sterility.
  • you can get traps that to the ants smell nice so they go into it pick up poison on their feet and take the posion back to the nest which then kills all the ants at the source.can't remember what the product is called or if its pet safe but a hardware shop should know what you need if you ask.
  • Put them outdoors. :3
