  • She has been on an allstar team over the summer and was one of their key players. The coach of the school softball team is playing the same players as last year Varsity team and I believe is comfortable with them. This however is not giving my dd any play time and she is now a senior and wants to play ball in college. She has approached the coach and the coach gave her an excuse of... she is a good batter and a good fielder and she catches the balls almost all of the time, but she wants to see more consistency. I have watched our Varsity team throughout these 6 games and have seen each player have a time of unconsistency. Throws that did not make it to players and they have been struck out at bat. I want to talk to the coach but since my dd has already, I want to go over the coach. Please some advice is needed...My heart is aching inside to see my dd stick this out on the bench. She is the only Senior on the bench. Other parents have made several comments to me about this and questions of, why is your dd not out there? One of the parents is a coach of a rec team was quite upset and said that my dd is one of the best batters that team has and it is foolish to not have her out there. I do have support of other parents. What should I do?
  • If it's competitive (as in there are tryouts, cuts, etc.) then I don't think there's really anything you can do about it, however, you can write a letter/complaint, you can talk to the coach, ask why, etc. Depending on how seriously she takes softball, if shes's really incredible at she should mabye switch schools and kick her school's butt, that might get them thinking a little, or a lot, depending on how competitive it is. Best of luck, I'm sure she's good, but instead of letting the emotions of frustration overwhelm her, she should use it as a motivation to become a better athlete and show everyone what they didn't think she was capable of.
  • Well its the coaches desicion. She'll get her chance soon!
