  • In what country?
  • usa stafford,va
  • No, you are recieving support from the government for the child, and therefore are not their supporter. If the child was adopted by you then you could use them as a dependent as long as they live with you for more than 6 months of the year. But it is best to call and ask IRS.. they have a toll-free number. or here is a link to how to qualify a dependent. http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc354.html
  • As long as you are providing at least 50% of the child's support, you can claim them as a dependent on your taxes. Additionally, you will have to claim any money received from the government for fostering the child as income.
  • YES, IF YOUR FOSTER CHILD IS DEPENDED ON YOU FOR , FOOD, SHELTER & OTHER EXPENSES .
  • i believe it depends on what state your in because i know that my payment each month is for care the previous month so it is concidered reimbursment for care provided the previous month
  • if you a gay coulpe in love and you want to claim a foster child as a live in lover you should ask nambla {north america man boy love assoc.} about laws in your state but if you like young boys you should be strung up you sick pervert just stop and think WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN and i think you can claim your boy love on your taxes
  • Per PUB 17 from the IRS 1. the foster child has to have been placed with you by an authorized placement agency or by judgment, decree or other order of any court. 2. must have lived with you ALL year! 3. you must have provided more than 1/2 of the person's support. so any support payments you receive from the placement agency, etc, is not considered support you have rendered. hope this clears up the question and previous answers, some of which are wrong!
