Do i need to remove the film card from my digital camera when passing through x-ray machines at the airport

No you don't. You only have to worry about undeveloped film in regular cameras. There is no effect on digital cameras. I have taken digital cameras through security many times and nothing happened.

Carry it and put it in the tray with your change, etc so it doesn't go through the xray. They may ask you to turn it on to see if it is a real camera...which you can easily do.
