I just started a job with an employer that does random drug testing. I know that poppy seeds can cause a false-positive for opiates. What else do I need to avoid in order to prevent false-positives?

If you are not taking illegal drugs, your drug screen will be negative. if there is a question or positive result, you generally can explain this, as stated in your question. if you doctor has prescribed a pain killer, state this befor the drug screen test. it shows honesty on your part.

I read that ibuprofen can give a false positive test for marijuana but try finding that information when your web searches are censored.

Poppy Seeds will not show positive since cutoff levels for opiates is 2000ng also if you are taking legal medications it will be clear by the medical review officer. Drug Testing provides with safeguards to protect you from false positive but if you need a home drug test you can go to http://www.medicaldisposables.us
