You can use the card vertically or horizontally to denote wins by the Banker or Player or Ties and this will supposedly (but not actually) show you trends so that you can chase them. It's the same as the 'boards' now found on Roulette games everywhere, but means absolutely nothing. Spoo42's answer was correct UNTIL he said that baccarat has the best player odds in a casino and that is NOT correct. Craps always offers the best odds at .6% or even less against you and Blackjack is also much better than Baccarat at .8% for shoe games down to .4& for single decks using basic startegy.
These score cards are completly pointless. As Calavera said, the only thing they are used for is to try and detect a pattern. But because the game is played from a shoe, and the fact that it is so random all it does is take time away from the game. So, it is merely just trying to predict future results from past results. I used to deal baccarat, its a boring game but has the best odds in any casino.
To use it, simply check off whether each hand was won by the Banker, the Player or Tied. Theoretically this would allow you to analyse a pattern. As to whether it works, it certainly does not! Past events will have no effect on future games. Just because the Player has won the prevous 20 hand, doedn't make it more/less likely to win the next one.
(A tip, if you really want to play Baccarat, always bet on the Banker. You will lose money much slower that way.)

You're reading How do you use a baccarat scorecard? Does it really work? Or, is it merely just trying to predict future results from past results?
