You can tell them you disapprove but unless they're living under your roof, that's about it. If they are living with you, you have every right to put your foot down about what you will and won't allow in your home, right up to flushing their pot.

at age 19 they are no longer a child and can make their own decisions about what to do with their life..

Explain to them the effects that marijuana has on people, especially developing ones at that age. Make a punishment that will deter him from trying it again (i.e.-earlier curfew) and keep an eye on him/her.

Have a non judgmental discussion about it.

Unless you caught them doing it in *your* house, you do nothing. They are an adult. If it was *in* your home, then you tell them it is not allowed, and to keep it out of the home, or they will have to leave.
