I have heard of that happening with women who are around infants. In certain tribes the women never stop breastfeeding because all the women breast feed all the babies. Point is, yes, if you are still secreating colostrum from your mamary glands then chances are you are still able to breast feed. Only way to know for sure is to take those puppies for a test drive....

Hi! Are you 100% sure that it is colostrum? Having droplets because of being close to infants is a possibility... But there are other possibilities too... If you want to be 100% certain you have to visit your gynecologist. He/she is the only one who can actually help you with that mainly becayse he/she knows your medical history and is able to perform a complete physical/hormonal examination.

I think I'm too old to have any more babies but wonder if I would be able to feed a grandchild if something happened to its mum.

Yes and yes.

Could it be partly psychological? I let my kids wean themselves but regret having to give up feeding them so soon.

Why would somebody downrate me for this question? Seems crazy.

Truth is any woman can breastfeed any one at any age. Breasts opperate by stimulation and many things can stimulate them. Jogging without a bra. Suckling by your husband. Massage regularly. They often secrete other fluids too. Its very normal. If you want to breastfeed again, you just need regular practice. Good luck!
