I was 12 when I first discovered I had some grey hair. It was kind of clustered around one temple underneath my dark brown hair. Through the years, my hair gradually turned grey until I was completely grey at 38 years of age. Now, at 54, my grey hair is slowly turning white. My mother was completely grey at 35, so it can be a family-type thing. Neither of my children, one boy and one girl, both adults, have any grey at all. So, yes, it's normal for some people to have grey hair at an early age. My advice: Don't sweat it. There are lots of things that are worse. I have never colored my hair and never will. My mother has colored hers since she was in her 30's and now she's in her 80's -- 50 years of coloring! Not for me!
