I don't know what is the cheapest - something I'm sure you can research on your own. however, I do know that the lamps (they're called lamps by the way) last for a VERY long time, and the life span is usually measured in hours, so make sure you look at lamps according to their projected life span.
It's not a bulb, but the lamp and the housing, they are all over 200-300 bucks.
Cheap bulbs likely won't be very bright (pay attention to the lumens of a projector, the last one we bought where I work was 3000 lumens because we didn't want to HAVE to turn the lights off to use the thing), and probably won't last very long. They're expensive for a reason.
Cheapest is not always best. For a more informative answer, I find this website has the most competitive pricing. They also offer a price beat guarantee. Check out: www.myprojectorlamps.com
The Cheapest "Decent" quality Projector that has afforddable lamps is the Favi HD LCD Projector w/ extra spare lamp Model RIOHDV3 The projector runs about $400 and replacement lamps are about $50 or less and last 6,000-8,000 hours, which is 5.4 years at 4hrs usage EVERY day.

You're reading What video projector has the cheapest bulbs? I have noticed that many projectors have overly-expensive replacement bulbs (like between 200 and 500 dollars for a freaking bulb!!!) Also, do they generally last a long time?
