I have an employee, that has a $500.00 loan, from the company, he has $25.00 deducted each week, he has paid back $75 now we believe that he has quit, would it be legal for us to stop his direct deposit on his last check to recoup some of the $

    If the "loan" was listed as an advance against his pay, yes you can withhold his check. If it was a personal loan to him from you, you would legally have to pay him, then pursue collection through the legal system.
