If you have a TiVo series 2 (or DSS TiVO w/USB port), then you can use a USB<->Ethernet or USB<->802.11 adaptor to connect your TiVO to your existing Internet connection. My TiVo was struck by lightning and it fried the modem. By using a USB<->802.11 adaptor, my TiVo now happily talks to TiVo.com via my DSL connection. Works great and is easy to set up. www.tivo.com's support section has all the information you need.
