I am getting them all the time. Pain in the ass.

They fixed it. YOU have apparently missed something. There are, I believe, five places from whence you may receive emails from AB. There are four you must and can fix. 1) Profile / My Settings / Preferences. Make sure ALL checkboxes concerning receiving email are cleared. Be sure to UPDATE the change. 2) Profile / My Settings / Watch List. Click the Delete? check-box by each question for which you no longer wish to receive email notification. (I delete all but a very few, and my old congratulatory questions. Be sure to click the DELETE button. 3) EACH ANSWER. Whenever you answer a question, there are two check-boxes immediately above the Submit button: Send me new answers to this question [and] Send me new questions in [this category] If the first is checked, you will receive emails whenever that question gets a new answer. If the second is checked, you will receive emails whenever anyone asks a question within the category shown. The setting remains whatever you set it for during your last answer submit. I know for a fact the first one puts the question on your Watch List. I've never checked the second one, so am not positive, but believe that it goes there, too. (Clearing the Watch List will kill the emails from them.) 4) EACH QUESTION When you ASK a question, there is a check-box immediately below the question box. Email me when this question receives answers. I believe this is how your OWN questions get on the Watch List, and it probably remains however you have it checked on your last question, as the Answers do. Again... This will (most-likely) put the question on your Watch List, so cleaning that out will take care of THOSE emails. 5) Moderation NOTE: When you moderate (flag questions or answers), if the moderation is not accepted, you will receive an email telling you it was rejected. You should also receive an email if, for some reason or other, you are tossed into the Penalty Box. NEITHER of these can you refuse, as these are the only place you can find out about them. (Community Leaders can place you in the PB temporarily, but I believe staff (read Rich, with Joel gone) - based on the offense and whether you have been PBed before or not - decides on the actual penalty. This can be hours, days, weeks, months, years, or "life" (about 28 years). PB sentences may be appealed, and people have been reinstated (paroled) before their sentence is up. NOTE: You may also appeal your rejected flags, if you believe they were wrongly rejected.)
