  • If you have a Dual Tuner TiVo box and if it's set up correctly, then it's as easy as pressing the RECORD button on one channel, then changing the channel and pressing it again. If you don't have a dual tuner TiVo box, then you can't do it. You can, however, record one show and then watch a previously recorded show. With a DirecTV/TiVo combo, you can record two shows and they should have set it up for you. If you DO have a Dual Tuner and you still aren't able to do it, then you will need to go through guided setup again and this time select the "two sattelite" option. Does this help?
  • If you DON't have a dual tuner, but have basic cable (or antenna), SPLIT the cable (antenna) input feed from the wall using a splitter connector, feed one into TV's coax cable input and one into Tivo. Connect Tivo to your TV's RCA inputs. Use your remote to switch between Inputs on your TV. When Tivo is recording, you can watch the other input (minus the Tivo functions) This can also sometimes be done with digital cable by splitting BEFORE you digital box, but the second input will only be basic cable (the channels that don't required the digital box)
