How can you tell whether someone's feelings for you are real love and not simply obsession, and if they are obsessed how would you deal with it?

Difficult to answer, because obsession is as much blind as love is :) but let me try. actually its difficult to say, because love is a type of obsession, but its a kind of good obsession ; ) they tend to be biased in both situations. if they are obsessed with u, then there must be something about u, which they are obsessed of. true love has no desires and no expectations. but unfortunately in this unperfect world, no relationship is without desires and expectations. u need to be observant for a long period of time say almost a year being at a neutral side. then u can decide, whether person has true love for u or not. u always have to restrict urself with ur drawn boundraies. if u r in madly love with him/her then u cant judge a person as u want to be. its a tough thing to do, u cant judge him.her in overnight. it takes some time. if they are obsessed then, deal with it softly. gradually make the contact less with those, and end it if u dont like but very gradually and divert ur life into different direction. its all generally spoken, I dont know the exact situation and to what extent it is.

My boyfriend calls me alot and doesnt like me to go out much because he "loves me". But i dont think its love i think he is obsessed and controlling. When somebody loves you they dont have to do all of that because their love over powers that and you should be able to feel it.
