  • Its not bad, but its better to let the natural oils your scalp produces replenish your hair every so often. This reduces split ends and dry, frizzy hair. Try washing every other day, or if you need to wash every day, try just shampooing the roots and not the ends, because the ends are the driest part of your hair.
  • You should wash your hair as often as it needs it. If your hair is dry, you should probably not wash it everyday, as doing so would get rid of its essential oils, leaving it unprotected. Wash it every other day or every second day. If your hair is oily or you exercise frequently, however, your hair will probably need to be washed more often, perhaps every day. No matter what type of hair you have, avoid harsh shampoos containing ammonium lauryl sulfate, tea laurel sulfate, or sodium lauryl sulfate. These detergents are bad for the hair.
  • certainly not. Don't most people?
  • It really depends on what your hair is like. There are so many textures and lengths of hair and there is different maintenance for each. A problem you can have when you wash your hair every day is hair product buildup. Using conditioner every day can definately create a buildup of product on your hair that will make it heavy and unmanageable, and it's helpful to skip it once in awhile (that is, shampoo without conditioning). Shampoo buildup can be helped by using a cleansing rinse or a cleansing shampoo. I have a really cheap cleansing shampoo (VO5 I think) that I will use every third time or so, and it really helps. I tend not to wash mine every day because I like to put it up at work or braid it, and hair will stay up longer in an updo or a braid if it's a little bit "dirty" (letting natural oils buildup). I also have to avoid using a blow-dryer because it will fry and frizz my hair, and it takes a looooong time for my very long hair to air-dry. So I only do it every other day, or every third day.
  • Probably. I can't remember the last time I washed my hair with soap, and, at age 50, I still have no gray hair... I attribute this to my practice of rinsing my hair with water every day, and "washing" it once a week with a non-soap shampoo from the health food store.
  • I say yes. because every time i wash my hair i have a little hair falling out. but if your african american and hispanic. which i have fine hair how often should i wash my hair
  • I wash my hair twice a day. I don't see any problems with that.
  • I think it can dry it out.
  • Depends on your hair type. If you have oily hair- no. My curly hair is okay to go a couple days as curly hair is typically dry. It doesn't hurt to wash every day but I have a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
  • I have very dry, think, curly hair. If I wash my hair even every other day it starts breaking off and going eerywhere. If I wash my hair once a week but condition it every day it is much shinier and doesnt break nearly as much if any. I have even tried using baby shampoo, it does the same thing.
  • Depends on your hair type - i have thick, oily hair (what's left of it that is) and have to wash it everyday or i look fairly dodgy
  • no i doubt it shampoo helps your hair
  • Most people do, and it is considered to be good personal hygiene.
  • Your hair wont fall out. The thing is is that your hair has natural oils and when ou wash your hair it takes it out the oil nutures your hair just use a mild shampoo
  • I don't think so. I wash my hair every day and I have nice hair.
  • its fine just like ayten said use mild shampoo
  • It actually isn't good for your hair to get wet and have chemicals on it every day. Every time you wash it with shampoo you are stripping off the natural oils that keep it healthy. And the hot water isn't good either. But we do what we can because we want clean hair and to look nice. However no way does hair need daily washing. It's just not good for it.
  • It can be bad yes because you wash all the nutrience and goodness out of your hair that way. Try washing your hair everyother day if you have moist, shiny hair but if its think and dry then try washing it once a week.
