Tell the impound guy that if he doesn't release your property then you will blow his head off.I generally find this works quite quickly and has an amazing success rate.

- Absolutely not! Call for a cop to meet U there & show them what's up before U confront the Idiot. Also have Ur receipts, contract & friend or parent there who can verify what U say. Inspect the car with cop & photo everything U say, as possession is 90% of Law, the guy could still refuse. Take or have Cop take down his I.D. & have the Bastard Served for Court proceedings, he Will come across when U Quadruple the Damages & hit him for Ur Legal Expenses. John

Yes, they have the right to hold the car/truck as it is, untill the impound fee is paid. By law you don't have a right to even get into the car/truck to take out personal belongings untill the fee is paid. They do this as assurence that they will get paid.

- But what if they ask for the title of the car and the $90 tow fee instead? thats what they told my sister. We also learned in the state of Massachusetts, they can only hold the "car" if it is not part of the car, they are legally obligated to release the items. This includes after market parts as long as you have either the factory or an equal to factory replacement part. The tow yard was also contacted by the local police and informed to release anything that does not come as part of the car by factory spec. Does anyone think it possible that the towe yard has already removed all items from the car including the $1300 stereo system? and the $900.00 snapon tool set and that is why they are trying so hard to get the title?
