  • It's all theory, it's not applied and tangable, so you can't always see it in use. That's why many people struggle, but thats o excuse to not try your hardest in the subject.
  • MATH IS NOT REMEMBERING THE ANSWER BUT REMEMBERING THE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Math is actually a piece of cake.
  • Tis abstract thought.
  • The two most common reasons are bad teachers or extremely extremely extremely dumb people. "Extremely" cannot be overly emphasized.
  • Math........ is difficult because of all of the things you have to remember when you get into higher math.. like
  • It is not difficult, as said before, all you need to know is HOW to do the problem, and the rest is easy, because their is always a correct answer.
  • You have to use your brain.. something not to be taken for granted.
  • God made math difficult to provide him with some comic relief when we struggle and struggle with the same math problem only to write down the wrong answer
  • I think it's because you might not like it. And, the first thing that makes something easier is liking it first.
  • because it is a form of abstract thinking, not everyone is good at that, and because it is cumulative knowledge - some of what you learn last week/month/year is essential for mastering each new lesson.
  • Math is difficult because it's a part of life, & life is difficult. Some people just aren't good at math, neither am I, but all you can do is practice.
  • Cause it's FUCKING BITCH. HATE MATH SOOOOO MUCH!! GAAAAAHHHHH Seriously. I hate it. It should go. Stupid Muslims for inventing Algebra. Stupid Greeks for inventing Geometry.
  • I have a theory that maths is sometimes (not always) taught very badly. I can't remember who said this but I think it is very apt: "If English were taught in the same way as maths at school, we would have school leavers exiting education with a shaky grasp of the alphabet, the inability to string together a coherent sentence and the opinion that poetry was a myth." My sister struggled with maths terribly at school. She then went on to do a bachelors and masters degree in philosophy which contained logic classes. Suddenly maths made sense. Schools are obsessed (probably due to external pressures) to get certain concepts into people's heads without really explaining where they come from. I didn't come across concepts such as the fundamental theorem of algebra and so on until university and I think this is a shame. Some of these basic underlying principles could help people who ask the perennial "why is that?" question (as my sister did). Sadly the answer too often is a harsh "It just is, OK!?!". Also I wonder whether a more historical approach may benefit students. I am not sure but maybe seeing how the subject evolved over time would help people see why these particular concepts came about. Not too sure on that one but is food for thought.
  • idk math shouldn't even exist!!! lol
  • it isn't that hard, it's all about the teacher.
  • Math is an exact concept. If your off by a penny - you are still wrong. Takes practice and also caring about whether you are a penny off.
  • i really hate maths, but its actually not that hard if you think about it, the main key is revising. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE makes paerfect!
  • Because there is so much to learn and so much logic and thinking involved. +5
  • its not difficult its just tricky and needs practice. I love maths.
  • I blame Talking Barbie - "Math is hard!" ;-)
  • Because it isn't.
  • What?? Everything should be EASY???
