  • Crankshaft, cam shaft, pistons, rings, cylinders, head, lifters, rods and tappets. Pretty much the internal parts of the engine, it overheats, warps the head, lacks lubrication at that rpm and basically will fly apart! Repair would most likely depending on damage done, require a complete engine overhaul, EDIT: Poor lubrication at that high rpm.. and the mechanical parts are mass produced, they are not specifically made for high rpm. The tolerances of the parts made in mass production do not fit into the high rpm category, they are not properly balanced and/or hard enough to tolerate the heat and stress, and can fail, like break, warp, etc. Have you ever driven a car with a tire out of balance? It vibrates and bounces at 35mph and again around 65-70mph... that is what the piston rod, crankshaft and cam are doing... get the picture?

  • Everything inside the engine that moves, slides, or turns as well as those external components required for engine operation. (Alternator, air pump, power steering pump, etc.)
