A true sense of community. When I was a kid, WAAAAAY back when (not that far back really), we knew our neighbors and looked out for each other. The world was not so hustle and bustle and people seemed to really care. At the end of the day, if people were driving home and there was an accident, the first thought would not be, "great, now I am going to be late," it would be, "Oh no - someone is hurt," I wish we thought less of ourselves and more of others.
