  • It's a fascinating city. Practically a testing ground for innovative ideas in architecture, urbanism and design. Some of the projects already completed and others in progress are said to be too "out there" or impractical in the long run, kind of a real-life Disneyland. Giiven the nature of the investors and its geograhical placement (U.A.E. is fortunate to have inmense oil reserves and riches) of course they can afford it, but also their intent is to draw tourism as a major source of income as well.
  • It looks horizontally and vertically overdeveloped to me. What are they going to do for water? Apparently Dubai is very close to the Arabian-Eurasian plate boundary. I sure hope those skyrapers have the world's best seismic protection.
  • I'd say they are totally out of control building an architect's dream "play house". Those buildings take my breath away. Expensive? Yes. Futuristic? Of course. Am I jealous? Yes. Would I like to move there? Nope.
