No, it isn't possible. You can only have 4 characters at most in your house, all controlled by you. After you pay off all you mortgage completely, your house expands, nothing more.
Is it true on Animal Crossing: Wild World, DS, that after you pay off all your morgage completely other animal neighbours can move in with you?
