When my family traveled to Florida back in the 60's. Then at zoos. I even saw one stuffed, in some store.

It has been about 10 years,and seen a few though they tend to travel and hunt in the night time.Unfortunately the armadillo we saw on the road was run over ,for the A-hole driver saw fit to speed up and aim for it to kill it out of fun.Some people are sadists.

A live one, a month or two. I usually at least glance at them at the zoo. My daughter also has a stuffed armadillo that my husband got for her on a business trip to Texas not too long ago. It came in a can.

About three weeks ago is the last time I saw one in the yard. We get them crossing the front yard on a regular basis. Here in Florida we see foxes, raccoons, bobcats and armadillos on a constant basis.

Saw one this morning in the back yard. They are everywhere in East/Central Florida. I don't think a day goes by that I don't see one dead or alive.
