  • I know someone who told me she experienced it for 40 years after her last child was born. In fact, it never stopped. It is different for everyone. Someone with this or any type of depression, needs to seek the sort of help that feels as though it is making a difference. If treatment is not working after a short time, do not be afraid to say so. Keep talking to others, perhaps speak to the hospital where child/ren were born to see if there is some sort of follow-up. Just don't stop asking for help and being as honest as you can. Try to find someone who is not going to intervene in ways you may later regret. Write, sing, excercise, talk, just keep moving around. Type post-partum depression recovery into google and your area. Eat, sleep, wash, and the rest of the basics. Take care of yourelf and children . It's a huge job and we all need help with it.
