  • You can't have both ears covered while driving because it may prevent you from hearing car horns and sirens. However you can have the earbud type in one ear.
  • Legalities vary by state. However - remember that you are driving a heavy, potentially lethal vehicle. You are not in your living room. Anything that impedes your awareness of what is going on around you increases your liklihood of hurting or killing yourself or others. Safe driving requires your total awareness. Don't let legalities be your sole guide to what is safe or not.
  • In Tennessee, you can operate a motor vehicle, even if completely deaf. so, i see no difference in using headphone. But, remember, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle will land you a citation, deaf, headphones, or otherwise.
