No its under sized I would install a 200 amp main service and upgrade too the house

Better off with 100 or 200 amp service. Way safer to have more than you need than to risk overload and potential damage.

You're reading Is a 60 amp electrical service panel in a 2800 sq foot home oversized?
Comments
When you upgrade to 200 amps I would install a 400/320 meter base and corresponding service entrance cable giving you the option of adding an additional 200 amp panel cheaply in the future. This will allow you to do things like install a tankless electric hot water heater (which alone draws 112.5 amps) when your current hot water heater dies, install electric baseboard heat (175 amps @ 15w/ft^2), etc. Depending on usage and discount rate, baseboard heat and a tankless water heater will pay for themselves.
