If you have a photo program, you go to "edit" and then look for "resample" this will give you the opportunity to adjust the size by percentages and also to adjust the .dpi "dots per inch" quality. BTW.. you should always keep a copy of the original photo. After adjustments, choose file, save as, then change the name slightly to add it to the gallery as a separate photo. Eg: "Photo34_4web"
You could also use the "export" feature located under "file", this will also give you the same opportunity to change size and dpi, but will also give you the added feature of changing the format.. to .jpg or .eps etc...
