  • No I concur with you on this one. Sugar is way better for you that that garbage that they pass off as unnatural sweeteners. Your question is just preaching to the choir. I agree with you 100%
  • You are correct... there are more chemicals that probably will do harm to you as well. so drinking more will only make it worse for the number of new people drinking them. Diabetics are told to stay away from sugar so this is better???
  • I drink diet soda regularly. But I never consider it a health affirming choice.
  • I hate any soda, I drink cool water mostly, some tea, and 100% real juices, and those I water down.
  • I saw a news report regarding diet soda. A study found that diet soda was much worse for you than regular and the chemicals used to sweeten it lead to cancers and certain health problems(I would list, but I do not recall and I cannot cite my source). The chemical sweeteners are far worse than natural sugar.
  • The artificial sugars in diet sodas and anything sugarfree for that matter have been proven to cause tumors, especially aspartame, there is conclusive prove that aspartame causes cancer, just google it.
  • People who drink diet soft drinks don't lose weight. In fact, they gain weight, when the researchers took a closer look at their data, they found that nearly all the obesity risk from soft drinks came from diet sodas.
  • Yes and they don't taste very nice IMO. I rarely drink soda so when I do have one, I'd rather have a non-diet version.
  • What makes me laugh is the people who order hamburgers, fries etc and a bunch of junk food and then order a diet something. At that point the diet drink is a bit irrelevent, I think.
  • I think you are on the right track... can I supersize that with an apple pie and a diet coke... lol
  • Well i think that diet ones are worse but not only that they tast even worse as well, i was at my grandmas party and all they had to drink there was diet diet diet or water i chose water no way am i ever going to drink diet drinks they tast yuk!!
  • Well, yes, most diet sodas contain an artificial sweetener called aspartame which has been known to cause brain tumors in lab rats and it turns into formaldehyde (the liquid they preserve dead lab specimens in) in your body.
  • Yeah, I stay away from that stuff. A lot of that diet stuff is loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Which is actually worse then sugar because your body doesn't know how to break it down, so it just immediatly stores it as fat. Besides, think about it, anything that bubbles like that, really? Can it be good for you?
  • Gimme a glass of water. Or better still, a nice glass of red wine, a calm discussion about nothing at all, an iridescent sunset, and a good friend to share them with, and you may keep the billion dollar soft drink industry to yourselves.
  • As a Diabetic; I will sometimes drink a Diet Coke or other Diet Soda IF I am out eating ... However; at home ; I drink the Diet Green Tea with Citrus ... it has another type of artificial sweetner whose name I can't recall ... was recommended by the doctor ... Mostly; I drink water just to be SAFE .... ANYONE who has read about those artifical sweeteners would stay away from them as MUCH as Possible ... +5
  • The lower sugar level is nice, but diet sodas actually have more acid in them than regular soda, leading to enamel erosion.
