  • tell him if he doesn't come you'll sell/throw away his stuff give him an exact date so he can't skip out
  • Are there fish in the tank? just throw everything away if he doesn't come get it tommorrow.
  • After 7 months, if he hasn't come to get it, he has no right to do so. Sell it, and buy yourself something nice with the proceeds.
  • Being the person I am - If I liked or wanted anything he left I would keep it. If the stuff is junk.. toss it out. He is obviously not to worried about it or else he would have came and got the items by now.
  • I gave him till yesterday 4/13/08 to get the fish tank..called him about 30 times and left messages on his phone. Nothing, people tell me legaly I can't do anything. Just wondering if anyone knows if thats true or not. Thanks
  • Call him or leave him a note that unless he wants to pay you storage fee's he best come get his stuff before the salvation army or the local homeless shelter gets it. Tell him he's got until high noon tom. to come & get it or its outta there, lol
  • sell it or donate it to a dumpster
  • Donate it to a local grade-school. Isn't posession 9/10ths of the law? Plus he needs to prove his items were there and that he purchased them - given that the chances of that are lower than low, the likelihood is that he won't have much of a legal leg to stand on. Legally, I'd be thinking you're the one with the rights. Course, that said, I'm not a lawyer...
  • This may be a little late. By now you got rid of the things. But for those who wonder. In Texas (if married) possession is 50/50 but only after date a divorce is filed. At that time checking account, savings, property etc cannot be disposed of. If he was living with you and he did not take his things, make sure you notify him and give him ample time to pick up stuff. Advise him you will be getting rid of them. You can donate them to Goodwill if there is one in your city. They give you a tax deductible amount for donation. This I learned when I went thru divorce. If I were you, I would just throw or donate everything. It is your home. He is not paying for rent or bills so get rid of it.
