Where on Earth did you get that idea from?
When the Earth was formed there was plenty of volcanic activity, and as we know from recent volcanic activity in Iceland, plenty of dust.
Add to this billions of years of erosion, moisture and biological detritus, and you end up with soil, lots of it.
Erosion :o)
Organic matter, dead things that is.
volcanos,dead animals,creatures,feties, basicly its lots of crap mixed together to be quite honest.....
water eroded the rock and over time it became dirt. erosion...
Biodegraded plant matter, eroded rocks and minerals.
