Do people who never use capital letters to start sentences know that the omissions make paragraphs look like one huge run-on sentence, and therefore, hard to read?

Yes, and it can be quite frustrating, but then again, not everybody in the world has the opportunity to get a proper education. However if they know how to write a sentence, then they should know that capitalisation is a key factor.

well. i might as well indulge. i guess it doesn't really bother me, as long as they get their point across without making me squint too much. i say that if that's the way you type, aww what am i saying, that really does look like crap. OK, AsLoNgAsYoUdOnTtYpElIkEtHiS. That is truly annoying. HAHAHAs :)

Yes, but if they have poor typing AND grammar skills, they can't help it.

Unfortunately, Jodie44, they either do not know or do not care. It happens to be one of my personal pet peeves in modern written language, along with the grevious punctuation, spelling, grammar, syntax and proof-reading errors that dominate the written word these days.

Great question; you are a woman after my own heart.

To be honest, I don't think they care. Many people in today's society finds little or no reason to apply anything they learned in school to anything they do in life. It's downright depressing, especially as a future teacher myself!
