Why are all horse racing jockeys so small?

Because the horse has to carry them on their backs. If you were a horse, what kind of jockey would you want on your back? Small people are lighter to carry so the horse can run faster.

The smaller the person, the less weight the horse has to carry, and the faster it goes :-)

Because you wouldn't want your racehorse to have to carry a 300 lb guy if the other guy's racehorse only has to carry a 90 lb guy. So you try to find someone as light or lighter.

Theoretically the more weight the horse has to carry the slower it may go. SO they choose smallish men to ride them. But if the horse does too well, they will handicap the horse and they will add weight to the horse, not a good thing as that kind of weight is dead weight. IT's better for the weight to be moving or alive than just sitting there.
