It can, it has done that to me! :-( however when you feel anxious the very best you can do is DO SOMETHING inspite of the feeligs. force yourself to go out, exercise etc. then the body produces chemicals that reduce the feeling of anxiety!

It does after awhile. I have bad bad bad generalized anxiety disorder, I run on anxiety and adrenaline it seems like all the time, but there is a crashing point. Seems like I have to get there in order to actually get a good nights sleep. There are also times it feels like it uses up all my energy and I know there are things that need to get done, but I just don't feel like it. It sucks living with it, been that way all my life as far back into my childhood that I can remember.
