Well, Jacob was a rescue in June of 1999. That was his name and I did not want to confuse him anymore then he had already been. He had been lost and was starving, they found him and fattened him up. He was adopted by a couple and then returned to the shelter, that is where I found him. Since that day, Jacob has never had to worry about where he would sleep, if he would eat, or if someone would love him! He is a special joy to my life.

Jackie-White Cat-named after Jackie Brown. Jasmine-Gray Tiger cat-went well with Jackie. They both only answer to kitty anyway.
-
My dogs name is Keeper, because we thought he was a keeper. also because he takes things that we leave lying around the house, and will NEVER give them back. We have no idea where they end up, but we don't ever see them again. I also used to have a hamster named Bullfrog, because he used to make little croaking noises when you held him.
-
We got him already named Cody. Another couple called him cody, and while we tried to rename him a similar name, Cato, and a few others, NONE of them stuck like cody. We have had a few pets, and even two hamsters and a mouse, but cody is a gold mine of a pet.

- a completely black maltese poodle cross spaniel with a white breast we named zorro. - short haired pointer named kazaar cos thats the latin name for that breed(or something like that...) - very very hairy cat- called feather duster, feather for short - cat with, no lies, a moustache exactly like hitler/charlie chaplin. She's a girl and we didn't want to be mean so we called her charlie loads more, but wont bore you jeez, i cant believe I've never named an animal just because... oh no, we named our puppy pippin, cos (I think)its cute
-
I have two dogs. Stella got her name because it is Latin for star and because of the movie "A streetcar named desire", which was referenced in one hilarious episode of Seinfeld... all three reasons. And considering she is insane and I am often screaming "Stellllllllllllla!!!" Rocco was selected from our list of names just because it suited him, and is a really, really cool name. He was nearly Fozzie because he was a fuzzy brown puppy, but Rocco ended up being the ideal choice. The nicknames we call them... endless!

I used to have a little Shetland Sheepdog (toy collie) who was born with a weak tendon in one of his front paws. As a result he never really learned to walk properly and just sorta hopped around, so I named him "Pogo".

I hava a dog right now, and his name is Xam. His name came as a counterpart to a collie we had when we brought him home, who was named Max. And Max was named to complement our cat's name, Mini, which is short for "minino" which is a very coloquial way to say cat. So...Mini>>>>Max>>>>>Xam

My first dog's name was Lumpie. When she was born she was kinda chubby and lumpy! My last dog we saved from the pound, he already had the name Mickey, but I called him Bugaboo, cause he followed me everywhere and was always hassling me to pay attention to him, he needed it constantly:) Sometimes I would call him Mickey Roonie Rourke, just cause I like to make up funny nicknames for everyone in my life! Bugaboo passed away less than a month ago, I sure do miss his constant need for attention:(
