Help answer this question below.

If there is a profile of a celebrity or something on Wikipedia that doesn't have a picture, how do you submit a picture for them when you go to "edit"?

    It's not as simple as you might think. Follow these step by step instructions:

    1. Click on the 'Upload file' link on the left menu bar.

    2. Read through that copyright stuff, and then click on the 'browse' button and select your file off your hard disk (I'm assuming you already have an appropriate photo of the person in question on your computer).

    3. Change the filename if you want in the box below.

    4. Describe how you acquired the photo and who the photo represents in the large box below.

    5. Below that, choose an appropriate copyright status.

    6. Click 'upload file'.

    7. Now we've got that out of the way, return to the article in question. Click on the edit button.

    8. You'll need to add a bit of Wiki syntax for it to appear. Add a space or two at the top of the article. Type the image name (including the extention - .jpg or whatever) inbetween two sets of two '['s (i.e. [[example.jpg]]).

    9. Type 'added image' or something similar in the edit summary - it's always important to include an edit summary - and click 'Save Page'.
