• I just found out my answer has been down rated. Apparently "Ding-Dong School" is NOT the earliest TV show that I can remember, but I can't, for the life of me, remember anything earlier. Ding Dong Womb? No, sonogram hadn't been invented yet. Well, mebbee that 'test pattern' with the indian head. I use that as my screen saver.
  Ted Mack, yeah I remember that , round and round she goes, where she stops nobody knows. I dunno if his TV show predates Miss Francis. I haven't seen a good plate spinner in years.

• No reason for a DR that I can see. Just +'d you. Ka-ching. Had me cracking up re: plate spinners. We did see those on the variety shows, didn't we!?!! lol But hey - as you saw above, I was mostly just happy to see "Ding Dong School with Miss Francis" here. Wonderful kids show and lots of early memories with that one. Thanks again. :)

• I began watching Sesame Street and Saturday morning shows in around the same time. I owe Jim Henson and Sid and Marty Kroft a good part of my early life. And, between General Hospital (summer of '81) to Adventures in Odyssey, (and learning about Walker Edmiston's past projects), I've been back to Living Island so many times, Sid and Marty are gonna start charging me rent!
  
  Good times! And between you, me, God and the grand piano, the way the world is going, Living Island is starting to look pretty darn good! Witchiepoo and all.

  As this article points out? We were "interactive" even way back then! Not exactly "social networking", but I sure was excited to be on the living room floor in front of that tiny set .. slapping my plastic sheet on the front of the tv set .. and even "saving the day" sometimes by what we drew on the screen. :)

• I loved it. My boyfriend recently saw the 1st & 2nd season on dvd at Target and he really wants to buy them. I don't know if I would still find the show as funny as I did when I was little. It might be like Seasame Street & lose appeal, but I like to think otherwise

• My dad's favorite program .. Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour .. and so of course, all of us watched it .. every week. :) That and Sing Along with Mitch .. Mitch Miller, that is .. another of his favorites. (I remember singing along! lol) We all thought that little box was magic .. and were fascinated with all it brought into our living rooms. :)
