The old black and white classic starring Bela Lugosi called "The Raven." Lugosi plays a deranged doctor in the film and it is creepy. It is a great movie to watch on a stormy night for sure.

If you like a dash of humor, try "Evil Dead 2" or "Reanimator."

Prime wants the old AB back

    The Exorcist 1 & 3 (2 was silly)
Ju-on (the Asian original that was poorly remade into The Grudge)
Kairo (the Asian original that was poorly remade into Pulse)
A Tale of Two Sisters (also Asian)
The Rob Zombie remake of Halloween was impressive and very different from the original; much better in my opinion.
Hellraiser 2 (you have to see 1 for the story but don't let it put you off, this is a rare case of the sequel being better than the first.)
    In the Mouth of Maddness
    Event Horizon
    Prince of Darkness

The latest decent Hollywood one I've seen is Silent Hill.

Some of the best at this point are Asian.

How about a couple of Ellen Page films? Hard Candy & An American Crime.
The latter may be scary enough but-surprisingly enough-is not even a spoiler for the ultimate in true crime books, which is based on the same crime: Now reprinted & renamed as House of Evil by John Dean. The book reveals the creeps as much less sympathetic characters & Sister Jennie as much more of one. And it digs into even more heartbreaking aspects of the crime.

Ringu, Rasen, the Ring 0, the Japanese originals. If you can find all 4 (!) at the local Blockbuster, and arrange them in a square shape, two on top, two underneath, you'll notice that it forms a ring, as each DVD has on it 1/4 of a circle! Pretty cool, huh ! Watch them !!
