I do know where my last name came from. Both my maiden and married names are Scottish. I like my Scottish heritage, and enjoy it. That being said, it wouldn't really matter to me where my name came from. It's merely a name. :)

I do, it's a bastardization of the village in Syria that my great-grandparents came from. Much like Vito Andolini became Vito Corleone when he came to the USA.

It's a major truncation of a Polish name. Of my 4 grandparents' last names / maiden names, there are 5 Z's - how many people can say that, huh? I'm glad my dad truncated it.
