Well, I can't say that I personally know how prepared you are, but I know of a pretty good book you can either buy or check out at your nearest library.

It's called Guide to Careers in the FBI by John Douglas, a retired FBI agent. You can check out his website for info on the book: http://www.johndouglasmindhunter.com/

    Hope it helps.

Not necessarily. the bottom line, with the fbi, is this.....only certain individuals qualify. you must have a spotless background. you must be able to qualify and pass a rigid physical agility program. you must be a citizen of the united states. you must not possess associations with known criminals. you must qualify and pass weapons training. you must pass many psychological evaluations. you must qualify and pass certain secret clearances. you must be able and willing to relocate. you must be able to work 24-7, at a given notice. and these, are just for starters. the fbi is very selective in their choice of candidates for the fbi. surely, you can understand why.

  • There are many other factors, besides your BA in Criminal Justice, to consider. Since I don't know anything except what your degree is in, this question cannot be answered definitively. I suggest you check out:

    https://www.fbijobs.com/

Lists current vacancies and requirements for prospective applicants.

A background investigation and polygraph are required and you must be a U.S. citizen. I can say from personal experience that most people get tripped up on these by trying to gloss over an indiscretion in their past. Don't do it! Tell the truth even if you think it will hurt your chances of employment with the FBI. Lying will hrt your chances far more and they will likely discover whatever it was you were attempting to coneal.

The employment process, because it entails a thorough investigation, takes time. This is not always the case, but be prepared to wait.

If you do not qualify as a Special Agent specifically, ask what you do qualify for and as if there is opportunity to advance to being a SA when you have more experience or additional training.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!
