  • English is a Germanic language, and for reasons that only a German might be able to tell you--for this custom goes back at least five centuries to my own personal knowledge--all nouns are capitalized. English used to do the same, as you can see by reading old English books such as Paradise Lost. Since months and days of the week are nouns, the question not why do we capitalize them but why did we lose the capitals on all other words? Can't tell you that, either.
  • Because they are the proper names of those days and months and, in English, we capitalize proper names.
  • Because many days and months are named after gods and famous people (eg. Thor's day).
  • Becasue they are proper nouns
  • its called grammar which im not real good at but i know that
