I've been reading the articles about the new CPR--very interesting. Hopefully, they will be teaching the general public the new technique. I wouldn't hesitate, though, with mouth-to-mouth. I couldn't bear to let someone die in vain if there was something I could do. If it was my family/friend, I would hope the person aiding them would give it their all.

I stopped fantasizing about the possibility of romantic encounters initiated through mouth-to-mouth years ago. With the tendency for unconscious people to vomit upon resuscitating, I am quite happy to keep my mouth as far as possible from theirs. If I have to taste puke, I prefer my own over anyone else's, thank you.

I'd do mouth to mouth, with a shield if I had one, without if I needed to, this is a life we are talking about :-)
-
I have and probably would again....it's a very hard thing to just stand by and watch someone struggle and die
-
Mouth to mouth still seems to be the most effective. As someone else mentioned, it's not a pretty, clean or exciting proposition to begin with but you are after all saving another's life.

I would do what was required, if that meant Mouth to Mouth then that is what I would do.

Rescue Breathing is the most important part.....you need to keep the brain oxygenated.....DUH!!!! <a href="http://www.getdefensive.com">Defensive Driving</a> <a href="http://www.gototrafficschool.com">Traffic School</a> <a href="http://www.kissmyticket.com">Cheap Los Angeles Traffic School</a> <a href="http://www.teendrivingcourse.com">Driver’s Education</a>

I had to take cpr and First aid classes last week to get my daycare license. They have changed things yet again may I add. This was one of my questions. In one respect you have to protect yourself, so depending on the person I think would play a huge factor, but as someone else stated I don't think I could just stand by and watch someone die. Just for your information though, you can buy these handy little keychains for around $7.00 that are plastic and have a valve on them so nothing would be transmitted what so ever.:) I really hope I never need to use it, but if it happened I would do everything possible.

I would listen to the Heart Association and do the hands-only method.

You'd be surprised how fast you would put your mouth on a stranger's if it meant saving their life. If you have been trained to save someone's life, you just do it and not think about it. They sell little one-way 'barriers' that you can have on your keychain to use in such instances. I believe all medical workers have them and they are stocked in ambulances and fire trucks.

I would have no qualms about doing mouth to mouth. I have not yet been trained on the new technique, so mouth to mouth, along with compressions (if necessary) is what I'd do.
-
If I determined the person was dying because of a lack of air, I would set aside my germaphobic side and put my mouth to theirs and breathe in. I think it is the least I could do.
-
I would do anything just to help the person and i am trying to become a doctor. But i wish i could save someone if they were dying from not breathing. So it doesnt matter to me they deserve to live. I have also studied both ways so i can do both.
