no, i like it just the way it is...thanks! Clever though, no doubt
-
No, since everyone would spell things differently, and potentially pronounce things differently. If you "standardized" spellings, you're back to where you started. Imagine how difficult this would be for someone learning the language - everyone spelling everything different. Plus, it looks rather, shall we say, "rough." I prefer English as it is, thanks. +1

With what accent? For example, I would use "simplr" in your sentence. many people would actually say "fings". Stand by for years of arguments while you decide *which* phonetically.

That's the object of artificial languages like Esperanto. But look, who really uses Esperanto?
-
No, because it becomes impossible to differentiate between similar/same-sounding words with entirely different meanings. Regional dialects and ESL learning complicate this "simplicity" and turn it into a hodgepodge of nonsense utterances. Bad idea. On the other hand, with the emerging demise of literacy in the US, we are moving in that direction however unintentionally, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

As an English major, what you've written hurts my eyes. So if we are taking a vote, I vote "no". Why do we want to "dumb down" just because we want to make things easier on ourselves? Why not take the learning process as an adventure and try our best to be our best? The easy way is not the best way all the time..maybe it never is. :(
