    There are more negatives against the environment related to urbanization than positives. Urbanization raises the temperature of the area a few degrees higher than the surrounding area. Also the CO2 emissions are much higher in urban areas than in rural areas. Not to mention the huge amount of pollution (air, water, soil, radioactive, light, sound) that is added to the environment from urbanization.
