Back in the late 70's Palestinians moved into and destabilized the Lebanese government. These groups then started staging raid on northern Israel from Lebanese territory. This prompted Israel to invade Lebanon in an attempt to clean out the terrorists and/or push them back from the Israeli border. To "defend&" against the Israeli invasion a group of Palestinians formed Hezbollah. This is a terrorist group that is sponsored by Iran and Syria. One of the main stated goals of Hezbollah is the destruction of Israel. Eventually, a deal was struck that included Israel withdrawing from southern Lebanon in exchange for the disarmament of and the end of attacks by Hezbollah. Israel honored its part of the agreement, but Hezbollah used the period of peace the agreement created to dig better defenses, rearm, and improve their weapons. This was done right in front of the UN peace keepers that were supposed to be enforcing the ceasefire agreement and disarming Hezbollah. Hezbollah also kept staging raids and attacks against Israel. Some of these included suicide bombings. Finally, about a month ago, Hezbollah conducted another raid into Israel killing several Israeli soldiers and kidnapping two others. This was the last straw and Israel invaded Lebanon again. In response Hezbollah started firing the missiles that they weren't supposed to have into Israel. And so it goes, Hezbollah launching rockets at Israeli cities from civilian neighborhoods, while the Israeli Defense Forces try to take them out.

Ummm...I believe the Israeli's are the ones doing the bombing, I don't think the Lebanese can afford an airforce. Check this out! Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land: Media & the Israel-Palestine Conflict... http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=peace%2C+propaganda

Israeli's "defense" went way too far, they killed over a thousand of Lebanese civilians, many of them are children, check out this link: http://www.lebanonunderattack.com/ The U.S. mainstream media is biased... always, don't trust it.

for a start Lebanon is bombing no one, hezbollah was responsible for the attacks , but the israeli edict of collective punishment (so beloved of the nazis also strangley) gives them divine right (might) to kill and maim none combatants , i.e. children, babies elderly and woman, in the name of 'defending Israel'must make Israelis very proud
