    I'm working on mine. Flying is so awesome though. I love it and am looking to get my ppl and cpl.

    Getting your private pilots license is a fun and challenging accomplishment. It varies from individual to individual as to how much and how long. It is basically up to your instructor to decide if you are ready to take the checkride. It can be done in as little as 40 hours or as many as 70 with most people taking about 50-60 hours. The cost also varies depending on the type of plane you train in and how many hours you need. I would plan on $5000 give or take depending on your ability to learn. It shouldn't be more than $7500 I would think. It has been 8 years since I got mine, so I could be off on prices. It cost me about $3500.
